Let’s meet… Stuart Jamieson
An excellent listener and negotiator, Stuart’s role as a Barrister means he is perfectly suited to mediation – thanks largely to his strong background in legal principles and dispute resolution techniques.
As well as being Head of the Civil Team at Parklane Plowden Chambers, he also sits as a Recorder and a Deputy District Judge on the North Eastern Circuit.
This vast experience of managing high-pressure cases means he is equipped to handle complex situations with calmness and clarity. Stuart has been involved in a large number of Joint Settlement Meetings and Round Table Mediations, with the Legal 500 (2020) noting that Stuart “Performs impressively in joint settlement meetings.” As a keen listener with strong negotiation skills, Stuart can quickly grasp the nuances of each party’s position, facilitating productive dialogue.
Called to the Bar in 2003, Stuart is described as “a very capable, professional and approachable barrister” who “doesn't shy away from difficult cases, and manages challenging clients very well” in The Legal 500 (2024).
